Fanny A.

Fanny Alger is generally considered to be the first plural wife of Joseph Smith, but historians are still disputing if she was an actual wife, or an indiscretion. At the time of her marriage to Joseph, she was sixteen years-old. She lived with Joseph and Emma in Kirtland, Ohio, but did not join the rest of the Saints on the journey to Nauvoo, or further west.

I am a divorced mother of four, in my thirties, a few misspent yet creative youthful years, active member of my ward and community, PTA mom. Yes, I hold a temple recommend, if you need the gold-standard in how to measure me. I speak up in church, and in my life, but am careful with my friends’ feelings and confidences. Several of those friends, after whispered conversations around my kitchen table, suggested a forum for discussing sex in a context for Latter-day Saints would be welcome. Hence, this blog.
