Information

We are not doctors, nor are we professionals in the field of sexual therapy– we regular women who believe having frank, honest discussions about sex is helpful and healthy. Men are welcome to comment, but all the authors are Latter-day Saint women. This blog is intended in good fun,  with a fair smattering of humor and with all the respect due the subject matter.

A brief but very important note:

If you have been a victim of rape, incest or any other kind of sexual violence, please consult with a professional therapist before embarking on any sexual self -help journey. Though we intend this blog to be informative, fun, honest and enlightening, these posts can also stir up emotion when abuse has been a factor in a woman’s (or man’s) life. If you have been abused and not already sought a professional therapist or counselor to help deal with the trauma you may have experienced, please do so. Bearing that pain and weight alone is not something required of you, and you have done nothing wrong. Please, ask for help.

First, as an ex-mormon man, having read thru some of your postings, I SCREAM “BRAVO.” The truths you are posting, even when going against teachings, are so valid, so needed, and I admire those women who read, respect, and share.

With permission, there are areas I would delight in commenting about based on my experiences growing into my teen years in the church, and the ultimate questioning that opened the door to leaving.

My indictment of organized religion is not limited to the mormon church, but to all churches and/or organizations which men hide behind, with their bonding, out of fear of the female gender. It is time for women to address that fear and take their rightful place alongside men, not one or three steps behind, not one or three steps ahead, but right there sharing the pleasure of holding each others hand as they move through life.

Again I so admire the job you women are doing and hope you never surrender to criticism or sarcasm but keep putting the truth out there so those who truly seek a good life, are able to find it, read it, understand it, and live it.
